Bob Acheson’s vision for Merced, or The realtor/developer class responds to Merced’s foreclosure crisis

By mercedpoliticsandtv

nothing to see here!

Since City Council, City staff and our local realtors refuse to take responsibility for Merced’s housing and development disaster aside from cleaning up after their mess, maybe we’ll have better accountability if we simply sign our City away to the developers. It would make sprawl-loving Raceway champion Bob Acheson’s life easier too. Please, people — think of the realtors!

  1. Sonja Says:

After voting 9/5 on reaffirming the city’s policy of no special favors – treating everyone with fair fees according to size, etc. Planning Commissioners Carole McCoy and Council candidate Bob Acheson got called on the carpet at the morning MLS (that’s Realtors for us peons) meeting by the big money arm-twisters and both pleaded confusion. So Acheson, at the 10/03 Planning Commission meeting, said he wanted to change his vote from the prior month. After both Acheson and McCoy complained that they “didn’t understand what they were voting for,” the city attorney told them they could not change their votes after the fact, so both noted in comments their protest. Check it out. Are they too incompetent for their positions or just bought and paid for? Really Bob, one squawk from the money men and you cave! What a wuss – purchased wuss, that is.
